ETI and Lenehan Audio Team Up - AMG Topper
Lenehan Audio are no strangers in the audio world, and a long standing relationship with Rob Woodland of ETI Research, has seen them team up once more for a new product getting chins wagging in audiophile circles across the globe.
ETI have released the 'AMG Topper', a product which aims to remove the resonance created by a speaker box to deliver a clear and un-hindered sound closer to that of the recorded track. Lenehan designed the AMG Topper over the past year before involving ETI who jumped at the chance to be involved and refine the product once demonstrated.
ETI's existing 'Topper' works on fractal technology, whereas the new AMG Topper is different. By sitting a smaller weight on a compliant mounting carefully tuned to a specific resonant frequency, it is able to actively oppose cabinet motion and thus vastly increase the stability of the speaker cabinet or speaker and stand assembly.
The weight is housed in a wooden box with an attractive, gloss piano black paint finish and sits unobtrusively on top of any speaker cabinet with a flat upper surface.
According to ETI, "the prototype has toured the world from New York, to the UK and around Australia. The response is simply "wow". Sceptics have been left speechless, reviewers are clambering to get their hands on a pair to try out, and forums have gone wild with the topic of this new design by Australia's own Mike Lenehan". Officially, the AMG Toppers from ETI Research are being released in August, 2012, and pre-orders are being taken now from International Distributors for ETI.
