Eversolo Announces DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2

Building on the success of the standard DMP-A6 Gen 2, this Eversolo Master Edition introduces a suite of upgrades designed to captivate audiophiles and elevate the listening experience to new heights.
At the heart of the Master Edition’s enhancements are two ultra-low phase noise femtosecond audio clocks. This advanced clock system minimises jitter, purifying digital audio signals to deliver a stable rhythm and remarkably pure tonal quality.
Complementing this precision is the inclusion of the OPA1612 operational amplifier array, which ensures lossless signal amplification and transmission, according to the company. With noise levels as low as 1.1nV/√Hz and a distortion rate of just 0.000015% at 1kHz, the DMP-A6 Master Edition guarantees a dynamic range and sound integrity that audiophiles will appreciate. Visually, the DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 takes a step forward with a redesigned volume knob featuring a gradient glow. This subtle yet striking detail adds a sense of ceremony to every interaction, enhanced by customisable RGB lighting effects. Crafted from CNC-machined aluminium, the unit retains the robust build quality of its predecessor, featuring a 6-inch retina-level high-resolution display. The new, super-low-noise linear power supply ensures cleaner and more stable power delivery, reducing noise levels to below 40μV, says Eversolo.
The DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 is as versatile as it is advanced, supporting HDMI ARC and TRIGGER functions. These features make it an ideal centrepiece for home theatre setups, allowing direct audio transmission from TVs and seamless integration with other devices. Audio performance is further enhanced with HDMI multi-channel output, supporting DSD Native and up to 5.1-channel configurations for an immersive surround sound experience. The inclusion of Wake-on-LAN (WOL) functionality adds convenience, enabling users to wake the device via an app when connected to a wired network.
Under the hood, the DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 boasts a fully balanced circuit architecture with XLR balanced and RCA interfaces. This design minimises distortion while maximising dynamic range, faithfully reproducing complex soundscapes. The dual ES9038Q2M high-fidelity DAC chips are another highlight, handling left and right channels independently for remarkable detail and separation. Eversolo says that "even intricate symphonies are rendered with lifelike clarity, capturing the atmosphere and depth of the original recordings". Additionally, the XMOS XU316 audio interface significantly boosts processing power, enabling support for DSD512 Native and PCM768kHz@32Bit decoding.
Streaming capabilities are robust, with seamless integration with platforms like Roon and Tidal Connect. The device’s intelligent categorisation and search features make managing sizeable digital music collections straightforward and efficient. Audiophiles can also take advantage of the advanced 10-band EQ and customisation options, allowing precise adjustments to suit personal listening preferences, from EQ gain to individual channel balancing.
Eversolo continues to forge forwards, and its DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 has been meticulously crafted to meet the needs of discerning listeners. Combining cutting-edge technology with practical design, we can't wait to get hands (and ears) on with this newly announced model.
The Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 will be available soon and is expected to sell for USD$1,280/€1.299/AUD$2,199.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
