Following a surprise appearance at The UK Hi-Fi Show Live, Exposure Electronics now offers its 360 turntable to partner with the British brand's hi-fi components.
Exposure Electronics says that the announcement of its first turntable is "more a case of you asked, we listened", adding that its customers have "been asking us for an Exposure turntable that seamlessly complements our range of electronics."
The new Exposure 360 has been crafted in collaboration with a leading British turntable manufacturer, which explains its similarities with certain RP decks made in Southend-on-Sea. However, the Exposure deck has been designed to be that 'perfect partner' for the Exposure range, as well as keeping with the company's ethos of creating products "that consistently outperform their direct competitors at prices that are as astounding as their performance".
The 360 turntable sports Exposure's signature minimalist design and comes in a grey matt finish with a high gloss black polymer edge trim and a distinctive, vibrant red turntable mat. The turntable is built around a super lightweight plinth, in which a core of polyurethane foam (a material developed for the aerospace industry) is sandwiched between an extremely thin and rigid high-pressure laminate.
The Exposure 360 also features a dual-layer float glass platter, whose increased mass promises high-speed stability, and sits atop the sub-platter, which in turn is part of the bearing assembly comprising a single piece of machined aluminium. The bearing features an ultra-low friction brass hub anchored to the plinth using a machined aluminium collar.
The low-noise, synchronous 24V motor is driven by an aluminium drive pulley with a belt turning the platter. We are told that the dedicated, separate power supply is hand-tuned and precision-matched to the motor for each individual turntable. Moreover, this prevents unwanted noise from entering the turntable and ensures that delicate low-level signals are protected from potential sources of interference. The power supply unit provides push-button speed selection, advanced anti-vibration control and electronic fine speed adjustment.
The 360's integrated tonearm arm tube has been designed using "intelligent redistribution of mass" to ensure fewer points of possible resonance. Meanwhile, its mounting is braced to the bearing housing to ensure maximum rigidity and accuracy.
Finally, the 360's isolation feet are made from santoprene rubber and reinforced by aluminium.
The Exposure 360 turntable is available now priced at £1,300 and comes supplied with a smoked dust cover.
