Following hot on the heels of Marshall’s foray into home audio, another music industry icon steps up to the turntable. Mobile Fidelity (MoFi Electronics) and Fender have reunited to launch the American Vintage Turntable—a nostalgia-rich, audiophile-grade deck that blends Fender’s electric guitar DNA with MoFi’s precision vinyl engineering.

This latest collaboration follows the well-received PrecisionDeck, which StereoNET previously reported on, and dives even deeper into Fender’s rich guitar heritage. Hand-built in the USA, the American Vintage features a solid alder plinth finished in Fender’s signature three-colour sunburst, a finish famously associated with the brand’s Stratocaster and Telecaster models. With its satin sheen, tactile surfaces, and matching tonearm and dust cover, the design bridges vintage aesthetic with modern hi-fi craftsmanship.

Designed around three key principles—ease of use, elegant design, and superior sound—the turntable is tailored to appeal to music lovers and audiophiles alike. At its core is a 6.8lb Delrin® platter, chosen for its excellent impedance match with vinyl, helping deliver a lower noise floor and improved sonic clarity. The platter spins on a hardened-steel inverted bearing system, incorporating bronze and sapphire components—a setup more commonly seen in far pricier decks.

The 10-inch MoFi Ultra Tonearm, developed and built in the USA, uses high-quality ball bearings for low-friction movement, with internal wiring by Cardas Audio. It connects through gold-plated RCA terminals, preserving signal integrity throughout the chain.

Practicality hasn’t been overlooked, either. Electronic speed control allows seamless switching between 33⅓ and 45 RPM at the touch of a button. The plinth rests on vibration-isolating feet co-developed with Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS), a name well-known in high-end component damping.

Enthusiasts can choose from three configurations: a base model with no cartridge, a version with the MoFi MasterTracker MM, or the top-spec option fitted with the UltraGold MC. All versions include a matching dust cover and share the same visual signature—what guitar and especially Fender fans, will instantly recognise as rock 'n' roll DNA, remixed for the new vinyl age.

The MoFi x Fender American Vintage Turntable is available for pre-order now, with shipping expected to begin in June 2025 for the US, and July 2025 for Australia. Pricing and availability for other regions is yet to be confirmed.

As mentioned above, three configurations will be offered. The base model without a cartridge is priced at US$2,995 / AU$5,999 / NZ$6,599. A version bundled with the MoFi MasterTracker MM cartridge is available for US$3,495 / AU$6,999 / NZ$7,599, while the top-tier model with the UltraGold MC cartridge is priced at US$3,995 / AU$7,999 / NZ$8,599.
