GENEVA INTRODUCES STYLISH TOURING S+ PORTABLE RADIO

Swiss radio specialists, Geneva, renowned for their stylish design cues and cutting-edge industrial design have announced the replacement for its popular Touring S Portable DAB+ Radio and Bluetooth speaker.

The Touring S+ is the next generation DAB+/FM radio Bluetooth Hi-Fi speaker in the Touring line that combines Hi-Fi sound with portability.

Featuring two full-range drivers and a more powerful class D amplifier, combined with a rear passive radiator, Geneva's engineers are proud of the sound quality and 100dB output that has been drastically increased over the outgoing model.

Designed to give you access to your radio and music on the go, the battery-powered Touring S+ is good for up to 20 hours of sound.

Les Sperring, National Sales Manager for Capisco Australia which distributes Geneva, told StereoNET:

Inspired by the iconic portable radio, the Touring/S+ brings subtle lines and solid materials together. On the smooth aluminium top you’ll find laser-engraved touch buttons, which give you a direct connection to your music. The aluminium continues through to the CNC-finished dial.

With the precision we've come to expect from the Swiss, weighing 1.08kg and measuring 170x45x105 mm (WxDxH) the Touring S+ is topped with eco-leather often found on high-end cameras.

With six presets you can conveniently tap into your favourite DAB+ or FM Radio stations, or use Bluetooth (4.1) to stream from your smartphone or tablet. There's also a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack.

The classic Geneva finishes have not been forgotten with the Touring S+ available in black, white, cognac, or red leather finish.

Available now, the Touring S+ sells for $349.95 RRP.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
