Goldmund Telos 300 Power Amplifier Launched

Swiss high-end audio brand Goldmund has announced its new Telos 300 power amplifier.
Goldmund's Telos 300 is a class AB stereo power amp that boasts an output of 450W (2 x 225 Wrms on 8 Ω / 1 % THD) using the company's latest generation of Telos amplification tech.
The Telos 300 takes its illustrious predecessor, the Telos 280, as its inspiration. However, the newcomer is said to sport an improved power supply "for more sustained low frequencies."
Additionally, we are reliably informed that components were adjusted at all amplification stages to reduce harmonic distortion in the high frequencies with Goldmund quoting THD+N, unloaded: < 0.04 % from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 20 Vrms output. Furthermore, these upgrades were also to improve linearity and guarantee the fidelity of the musical message even further.
Finally, amplifier protection has been enhanced, including a timer that opens its outputs when overloaded, says the manufacturer.
Naturally, Goldmund says that the 15kg Telos 300 is the perfect companion for its Mimesis 27.8 or Mimesis 37S NextGen preamplifier or any other preamp from its lineage. However, we dare say that the Telos 300 will probably do a decent job with other similarly equipped components from different brands, too. While we're talking about connectivity, the Telos 300 has a pair of speaker cable binding posts, as well as a brace each of RCA and XLR input ports.
The Goldmund Telos 300 is available to order now at a UK RRP of £13,000.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
