Hidizs ST2 PRO Digital IEMs Claim World’s First Title

Hidizs is boasting a world's first with its ST2 PRO Digital In-Ear Monitors, unveiled in Vegas with the SD2 portable USB Type-C adaptor DAC.
The company states that the ST2 PRO results from" hundreds of hours of testing and engineering work" and offers an innovative new way to listen to audio from today's digital devices, including Macs, PCs or smartphones — including the latest iPhone 15, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max, portable gaming devices, Digital Audio Players (DAPs) and more.
The main change is swapping out the traditional mini-jack plug for a USB Type-C connector. Additionally, the IEMs feature a built-in flagship ESS ES9281C PRO DAC supporting audio files up to and including 32-bit/384kHz (PCM), DSD128, and MQA.
We are assured that the digital wired connection ensures zero latency, making the ST2 PRO ideal for playing games or watching videos.
Hidizs adds that the ST2 PRO delivers a musical, engaging sound thanks to their 10mm Magnetic Circuit Dynamic Drivers with a claimed frequency response of 20Hz to 40kHz, partnered with the IEM's bundled 1.2 metre 6N High-purity Oxygen-free Copper detachable cable.
HIDIZS SD2 USB Type-C/ 3.5mm Adaptor DAC
Also announced at CES 2024 is the new Hidizs SD2 USB Type-C to 3.5mm Adapter Dongle DAC.
Available in three colours - Black, Grey, and Silver - and weighing in at just 6g, the diminutive SD2 features a USB Type-C connector on one side and a 3.5mm headphone output on the other.
Simply plug the SD2 into your Mac, PC or smartphone and your headphones into the SD2 to instantly improve the quality of your audio thanks to the in-built ESS ES9270 DAC, supporting hi-res files up to 32-Bit/384kHz (PCM) & DSD128.
The Hidizs ST2 PRO and SD2 will be available from February, with prices to be confirmed.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
