Loewe is Back with Bild 2 Range

Loewe is back, and it's easy to fall in love with its beautifully appointed new 'bild 2' range.

The 4K UHD capable LED entry-line comprises two models, 2.43 43" and 2.49 49", you can position the TV exactly where you want either on the wall or an entertainment unit. Better yet, add Loewe's dedicated floor stand for the ultimate design statement.

Loewe has applied a 'less is more' approach to bild 2, with the company stating, "Loewe follows the principles of minimalism and sustainability in product design. It means investing in few, valuable and lasting objects. The reliable quality, longevity and sustainability of Loewe products are emphasised by timeless design, carefully selected materials and subsequent software innovations."

The integrated loudspeaker of Loewe's "guided wave design" directs the sound forward, and combined with two rear-facing woofers, is said to deliver "consistently strong and voluminous" sound. Unique and exclusive to Loewe TVs is the Mimi Defined. As used and reviewed by StereoNET in Beyerdynamic headphones, the innovative algorithm tailors the sound specifically to your hearing, in real-time. There's no need for additional soundbars here.

Loewe says the expertise and lifeblood of the brand have not been lost on bild 2, with its selected Ultra HD panel with LED backlight and sophisticated HDR image processing developed in-house. The result, they say, is balanced colours, natural contrasts, realistic sharpness and smooth transitions.

Finally, the Loewe app allows recordings to be programmed while on the move. Storage can be expanded with the Loewe DR+ 1TB disk, allowing for a program to be interrupted at any time and watched with a time delay, even on another Loewe TV. The company also says that "in the future, the permanent time-shift recording feature will make it possible to start recordings even later or after the start of the program." You can even play the same content at home synchronously on two Loewe televisions, regardless of whether it is a live program or archived content.

Newly established Melbourne specialist, Geoff Haynes from HeyNow Hi-Fi in St.Kilda, who uses and recommends Loewe TVs added:

One of the benefits of investing in a Loewe TV is they are made to last - you don't get caught in the perpetual updating cycle of the Asian based TVs. As well as being renowned for their amazing picture depth and natural colour balance, Loewe understands that sound is as important as picture and employ front-firing speakers to prevent the need for an additional soundbar.

Available now, the Loewe bild 2.43 sells for $2499 RRP, and the Loewe bild 2.49 sells for $2999 RRP.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
