NAD's new C 399 integrated amp is said to push 180wpc of the Canadian company's HybridDigital (Hypex) nCore amplification into 8/4 Ohms.
The full-sized flagship component is also loaded with an ESS Sabre ES9028 DAC crunching numbers up to 32bit/384kHz.
Connectivity includes 2 x coaxial, 2 x TOSLINK, HDMI eARC, two-way aptX Bluetooth, two line-level inputs and an MM phono input. Outputs on offer are a 'low impedance / high voltage' headphone amplifier, twin subwoofer outputs and two sets of loudspeaker binding posts.
Finally, the cherry on top is that C 399 sports NAD's second-generation modular system. Thankfully, NAD has also announced the first such module in the Ethernet-equipped MDC2 BluOS-D.
The NAD MDC2 BluOS-D, as you've probably already worked out, offers support for BluOS and so also Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Roon Readiness. Additionally, there is Dirac Live room correction, too.
This neat upgrade is completed by sliding the MDC2 BluOS-D into one of the two empty slots on the back of the C 399 and screwing it into place. Job done.
Pricing for the NAD C 399 is £1799/ €1999 with the optional MDC2 BluOS-D module costing £449/ €549.
