For anyone with a digital library of music on their network, as well as looking to access subscription-based streaming services, Roon is pretty much a must-have. Roon is an intuitive and engaging way to browse, organise, and listen to music. Additionally, artist photos, credits, bios, reviews, lyrics, tour dates, and composers are located automatically, then interconnected by links to build a surfable digital magazine. Roon is also a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform that offers bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multi-channel support, and Signal Path display.

Rob Darling, Director of Strategy, Third-Party Partnerships at Roon Labs, told StereoNET:

The broad, multi-purpose nature of the NP5 Prisma created some tricky obstacles for the team at Primare, and we appreciate all the hard work Primare's team put in to overcome them. Primare has proven to be a great partner, and we look forward to seeing more Prisma models Roon Ready certified in the very near future.

The Swedish company's NP5 Prisma has been designed to be small enough to slip inconspicuously into any system setup. Furthermore, the Primare streamer can be used with any product with a digital input, whether stereo or multi-channel, and now provide Roon Ready connectivity and control.

Siemen Algra, General Manager at Primare, remarked:

The NP5 Prisma being Roon Ready makes it even easier for everyone in the household to experience high-performance music playback, all managed from familiar devices.

Terry Medalen, Marketing Manager at Primare, added:

The ability to offer Roon has always been a critical component in the development of the Prisma model range because it gives our customers the most sophisticated media management tool available to enhance the total experience that our products provide.

We can expect more Primare devices joining Roon with the SC15 Prisma network player and DAC, CD15 Prisma and CD35 Prisma CD and network players, PRE35 Prisma preamplifier, and I15 Prisma, I25 Prisma, and I35 Prisma integrated amplifiers are all being readied for certification.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
