Roon Expands Certified Device Ecosystem with 13 New Additions

Roon’s certified ecosystem keeps growing, with thirteen new devices added from Denon, Marantz, FiiO, HiBy, Rotel, Technics and more — offering seamless high-resolution playback across a wide range of audio systems.

Now encompassing over 1,000 high-performance products across more than 160 audio brands. April brings a fresh wave of certified products, with thirteen new Roon Ready and Roon Tested devices added to the roster. These include AV receivers, streamers, integrated amps, and digital audio players from trusted names such as Denon, Marantz, Fiio, HiBy, Orchard Audio, Rotel, Shanling, and Technics.

The latest certified models are designed to integrate seamlessly into the Roon platform. They offer rich support for high-resolution audio playback and networked streaming while maintaining each brand's unique engineering and design philosophies.

Denon leads the pack with four newly certified Roon Ready devices. Starting with the AVR/AVC-S670H and AVR/AVC-X3800H AV receivers which bring support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 8K video passthrough, and room correction via Audyssey or Dirac Live, making them ideal hubs for immersive home cinema setups. The DRA-900H offers 2.2-channel stereo performance with HEOS multiroom streaming and extensive connectivity options, perfect for high-res audio lovers. Meanwhile, the PMA-900HNE integrated amp delivers 85w per channel and supports hi-res audio, including DSD256, with built-in HEOS for seamless wireless playback.

FiiO joins the platform with the K17, a powerful desktop DAC and headphone amp featuring dual AKM DAC chips and a 4000mW output. It is engineered for headphone enthusiasts seeking top-tier sound. HiBy's flagship digital audio player, the R8 II, is now Roon Ready. With a Snapdragon chipset, Darwin-MPA architecture, and support for ultra-high-resolution formats up to DSD1024, it offers portable high-end audio with tight Roon integration.

Marantz adds two devices to the certified list, starting with the AV 10, a reference-grade 15.4-channel AV processor fully loaded with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 8K HDMI, and Dirac Live calibration. There is also the Stereo 70s, a slimline 2-channel receiver that brings the simplicity of stereo to a modern home cinema environment with 8K passthrough and HEOS streaming.

Orchard Audio introduces the PecanPi+ Streamer, a compact yet capable network streamer with a built-in DAC and headphone output, offering high-resolution audio in a sleek, minimal form factor.

Rotel's DX-5 is now Roon Tested. This streaming amplifier pairs ESS Sabre DAC performance with HDMI ARC and a range of digital inputs, making it a versatile choice for modern listening rooms. Shanling debuts in the Roon ecosystem with the SM1.3 streamer, a next-gen network audio player with enhanced processing and broad format support. This highlights a new phase in the brand's digital lineup.

Technics adds two all-in-one solutions, the SC-C65 and its upgraded sibling, the SC-C70MK2. These combine CD playback, streaming, and high-res support in stylish network audio systems. They are ideal for all-in-one convenience without sacrificing sound quality.

Together, these additions expand Roon's reach across audiophiles and mainstream markets. Whether you're looking for a desktop DAC, a high-end AV processor, or a compact streamer for your second system, April's new Roon Ready and Roon Tested gear promises to deliver more choice than ever for enjoying your music your way.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
