Ruark x Nordoff & Robbins R1 Mk4 Special Edition

In collaboration with music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins, Ruark announces a limited edition R1 Mk4 to help raise funds.
Ruark has unveiled a new limited-edition Pine Green colourway for its R1 Mk4, lending an elegant splash of colour to an evergreen piece of Ruark design. For every limited-edition R1 Mk4 radio sold, a donation to the charity will be made.
Crafted in collaboration with Nordoff and Robbins, this special edition R1 MK4's beautifully finished Pine Green acoustically tuned and damped polymer cabinet is partnered with a handcrafted slatted wooden grille.
Designed with flexible connectivity in mind, Ruark's R1 Mk4 comes with DAB and DAB+ support alongside FM radio. There's also high-quality Bluetooth streaming onboard. For genuinely versatile listening experiences, the R1 Mk4 also features a USB-C charge and playback port, switchable auxiliary input, and headphone output. The compact unit promises to enable music lovers to immerse themselves in their favourite songs, radio stations, and podcasts however they want.
An auto-dimming high-contrast OLED display delivers essential information, while a Class A-B amplifier and Ruark NS+ neodymium full-range driver provide audio.
Alan O'Rourke, Managing Director at Ruark, told StereoNET:
Having supported Nordoff and Robbins since 2012, when we collaborated on our first limited edition R1, we're delighted to be teaming up once more to create this beautiful exclusive variant of our beloved Bluetooth radio.
Sandy Trappitt, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Nordoff and Robbins, added:
We are so excited and grateful to be working with Ruark Audio on creating this limited edition Ruark R1 radio in aid of Nordoff and Robbins. Music is in our DNA, and we believe in bringing the power of music into more homes. Each and every person who purchases this wonderful radio will be helping to transform the lives of vulnerable and isolated people through music therapy.
The Ruark R1 Mk4 in Pine Green is available from mid-September, priced at £239.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
