TECHNICS SL-1500C TURNTABLE DEBUTS WITH OTTAVA SPEAKERS

Technics will be debuting its forthcoming SL-1500C direct-drive turntable, as well as the newly launched Ottava C50 Smart speaker at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show.
Technics Ottava C50
We first spotted the Ottava C50 at Munich High-End and was taken by its design.
The new smart hi-fi speaker is beautifully made from premium materials and boasts sound quality to match its looks.
Four JENO Engines produce optimal performance, with superior sound imaging through subwoofer, midrange, and tweeter alignment. This achieves excellent tuning and optimises sound spaces to fit individual listening environments using Space Tune.
Technics SL-1500C
Additionally, The Bristol Hi-Fi Show will be the first chance to see and hear, the SL-1500C direct-drive HiFi turntable.
Based on the famous SL-1200, which has enjoyed a recent Mk7 update, the SL-1500C is designed for home listening.
An upgrade to the SL-1500, the new turntable includes an integrated MM phono amp for ease of use and comes with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
Technics has taken care to isolate the phono EQ power supply from that of the motor and control circuitry to reduce inference, while the fitted cartridge gives the SL-1500C out-of-the-box playability.
Testing the new deck are the latest records from Rough Trade in Bristol.
Furthermore, there will be discounts on vinyl at Rough Trade Bristol, as well as a limited edition 12-inch record bag, available every day.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
