World’s First THX Dominus Certified In-Wall Home Cinema Speakers

Perlisten Audio's in-wall speakers are the first to achieve THX Dominus certification, making them perfect for stealthy home cinemas.
Perlisten's THX Dominus in-wall speakers are headed up by the flagship S7i LR. Measuring just under a metre in length and only 4-inches deep, this 4-way system comprises four 7-inch woofers and Perlisten's Directivity Pattern Control (DPC) waveguided array of a 28mm tweeter and twin 28mm midrange drivers.
The DPC array utilises passive beamforming designed to achieve precise dispersion of the beryllium tweeter - with expanded bandwidth to 40kHz - and the twin midrange transducers. To minimise internal reflections, all three DPC drivers are housed within a dedicated rear absorption chamber. In addition, the S7i LR's fully sealed S-series aluminium cabinet is damped with a bituminous layer, ensuring consistent frequency response without enclosure resonances or sound leakage.
The tweeter and dual midranges utilise oversized Neodymium motors, shorting rings for low inductance, flux stabilisation with low distortion, and Ferrofluid for power handling. Meanwhile, the S7i LR's four 7-inch woofers promise the dynamic range needed for huge transients while remaining under control. This is all part of achieving THX Certified Dominus, which demands more than double the output levels of THX Certified Ultra specification.
Dominus is the newest and the largest performance class of THX certification, meant to bridge the gap between large home theatre speakers and those used in commercial movie theatres and exhibits. As a result, home theatre owners with rooms up to 184 cubic metres and up to a 6-metre viewing distance can fill their listening rooms with the superior audio quality they expect from THX Certified products.
The S7i-LR will be joined by S7i-C, S5i-LR, S5i-C, and S4i-LCRS surround models in Q4.
You can experience Perlisten's THX Dominus in-wall speakers at their European debut at stand 102 EI Live! Farnborough Exhibition Centre, Sept 14-15, 2022.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
