Wyndham Audio BR1 Loudspeakers
Wyndham Audio, a relatively new loudspeaker manufacturer based in Melbourne's west have announced their new BR1 Floorstanding speaker, a departure from their typical full range and open baffle designs.
A handcrafted, conventional two way bass reflex design, Wyndham Audio collaborated with well known Australian designer, Stuart Ralston (SGR Audio) to design and create this latest offering.
Keith Oneil, co-founder of Wyndham Audio told StereoNET:
The Wyndham Audio BR1 and soon to be announced Wyndham Audio BR2 [8” three way] was designed and developed by Stuart in collaboration with Wyndham Audio to arrive at a two way floorstander that we feel has a foot print smaller than most of the two way standmounts out there, but with far superior performance.
The Wyndham Audio BR1 utilises a 6” mid woofer that delivers very deep, strong bass without any bloating, while the midrange is clean and smooth and the top end is simply delightful.
A 30mm textile tweeter with a waveguide that handles dispersion offering optimised off-axis response.
Oneil continued:
We are very proud of what we have achieved in sound quality with the BR1 loudspeaker and we’re confident you’ll agree with us, once you have auditioned them.
The enclosure is a rigid design with internal baffle and bracing panels while the enclosure walls are fully lined to minimise standing waves and to optimize the performance of the drivers. According to Wyndham Audio, the bass response from the BR1 is remarkable, extending very deep and strong with no bloating.
The BR1 loudspeaker is available in a selection of Australian timber veneer finishes, which can be viewed on their website.
