FOCAL KANTA 1 AND 3 SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED AT CEDIA EXPO 2018

The Focal Kanta family has expanded. The French acoustics brand has launched three new Premium Hi-Fi loudspeakers: Kanta N°1, Kanta N°3 and Kanta Center. These join the original Katana N°2, released in October 2017.
The three new speakers are being showcased to the public for the first time at the CEDIA Expo show which started September 6th, 2018.
The new additions are imprinted with Focal DNA and show family traits such as a Flax cone combined with an IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) Beryllium inverted dome IHL (Infinite Horn Loading) tweeter. The speakers also feature TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) suspension and a NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) motor.
KANTA N°1
Kanta N°1 is the Premium solution for rooms under 269 square ft² (25m2). This £4,499 discreet loudspeaker is particularly perfect for bookcases. When positioned in an enclosed space, or near to a wall, a piece of foam can be slid into the port, optimising the bass. It can also be stand-mounted.
KANTA N°2
Focal's Kanta N°2 was launched in October 2017. It best displays its potential in rooms measuring 269 to 431 ft² (25 to 40m2) and has an RRP of £6,999.
KANTA N°3
Kanta N°3 is the gold standard of this line. Costing £8,999 it generates generous power and structured bass, making it the choice for larger rooms of up to 861 square ft² (80m2). The technological innovations in the speaker drivers make it possible to recreate neutrality in the midrange with higher definition. Focal says that "the latest generation IAL tweeter reproduces the tiniest details with clinical precision".
Home Cinema with Kanta
Kanta Center, £1,999, can reproduce the vocal range with extreme neutrality, at both low and very high volumes. This Katana is a formidable weapon in any premium Home Cinema arsenal.
For a top of the range Home Cinema configuration, the Sub 1000 F subwoofer, featuring a flax cone, is the ideal addition. Its extended infrasound frequency response, its high SPL capacity, and its stable tonal balance immerses you into the heart of the action.
When combined with a set of classic loudspeakers, Kanta Center and the Sub 1000 F form an extremely structured system. Hook them up with the 300ICW4 in-ceiling loudspeakers, you will experience incredible 3D audio in Dolby Atmos, DTS X or Auro-3D.
Kanta N°1, Kanta N°3 and Kanta Center are on display for the first time at CEDIA Expo in San Diego, until September 8th at booth #4036.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
