Marantz AV 10 and AMP 10 Reference Home Cinema Models Now Available
Marantz's AMP 10 and AV 10 flagship home theatre offerings have now been made available in Europe.
The AV 10 and AMP 10 were announced by Marantz in September 2022 and round off the company's newly launched Cinema Series and join the less spendy Cinema 40, 50, 60 and 70 AVRs.
MARANTZ AV 10
The AV 10's 15.4 channels of output and processing can decode Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro 3D and can support up to a 9.1.6 Atmos array. In addition, room correction comes via Audyssey's MultEQ XT32 as standard, with the option to upgrade to Dirac Live.
Furthermore, the AV 10's seven HDMI inputs are all 8K-compatible; additionally, there are three outputs - two main and one zone. You also get a raft of digital and analogue (including phono) inputs to accommodate your Blu-ray player, CD player, games console, turntable or another audio source you want to plug in. To be honest, Marantz has used up as much rear-panel real estate as possible.
If streaming music is more your thing, then the AV 10 has you covered, thanks to the HEOS multi-room music streaming platform being baked in. This hands you access to the likes of Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Music and Deezer.
MARANTZ AMP 10
The AMP 10 is based around Marantz's HDAM-SA2 technology and features its new Class D amplification, which promises even better performance through its 16 channels.
Furthermore, there is power with that performance as we're told the AMP 10 is capable of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
You can operate each channel separately or switch channel pairs to bi-amp mode, separating frequency bands from each other. There is also an option to put the AMP 10 into bridged mono mode if you need even more prodigious output.
Additional custom install-friendliness of the AMP 10 means it doesn't have to be in your cinema room as AMP 10 can transmit control and status information to the AV 10 when paired. It also supports automation via a home control system.
