MARK LEVINSON № 519 NOW WITH ADDED ROON AND MQA

Mark Levinson's highly regarded № 519 digital audio player has just received a significant firmware upgrade that enables MQA decoding and grants it Roon Ready certification.

This latest update empowers the № 519 to allow you to browse, organise and listen to your favourite tracks, or explore millions more via TIDAL, and its library of MQA Masters tracks.

Additionally, Roon's impressively intuitive interface brings about a world of bios, lyrics and even tour dates of your favourite artists to explore. Furthermore, remember that Roon is also a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform, offering features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel support, and Signal Path display.

As a refresh, the Mark Levinson № 519 Audio Player combines wireless and wired streaming from networked libraries and streaming services, a CD player, and connections for USB drives, digital audio inputs, as well as sporting Bluetooth aptX.

Now that the № 519 is also fully MQA certified it means playback and authentication of MQA audio files is added including streams from TIDAL, Roon, USB drives, DLNA, and MQA encoded CDs.

The Mark Levinson № 519 was already a highly-regarded source as you would expect from this prestigious brand, but the latest firmware is an early Christmas present that gives you even more.

Available now, the Mark Levinson № 519 sells for £21,000 RRP.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
