Marten Mingus Septet Launch at Munich High End 2023

Marten's Mingus Septet loudspeaker is all set to launch at High End Munich 2023.
Marten states its Mingus Septet is perfect for those that admire the power and performance of Mingus Orchestra, but want a lounge-friendly listening experience and visitors to this year's High End Munich will be able to find out for themselves if it lives up to the hype.
The new four-way speaker features no less than seven drivers, including a 1-inch custom diamond tweeter, a 3-inch beryllium high mid driver, a 7-inch ceramic mid-bass driver, a pair of 8-inch aluminium sandwich honeycomb woofers further bolstered by two 10-inch passive aluminium sandwich units.
Furthermore, we're told that the Mingus Septet utilises a first-order crossover at 200, 800, and 6,000 Hz adapted to best use the new custom drivers. Finally, everything is connected via Jorma internal wiring, ensuring superior performance with renowned shielding for transparent sound.
The result, according to Marten, is a quoted 23-40000 Hz +-2dB frequency range, 89 dB / 2.83 V sensitivity and 6-ohm nominal impedance.
The 126 x 33.5 x 46 cm (HxWxD) 95kg cabinet features aluminium trim for resonance damping as well as aesthetics and stands on Marten Isolators, designed with IsoAcoustics for further resonance reduction and distortion management.
Alongside the Mingus Septet, the Swedish high-end loudspeaker designer is also launching Marten Finishes to offer customisation options for Mingus Septet. Here you can choose wooden tops and bottoms from a range of coloured lacquer finishes, as well as signature solid woods. This service will also be available for other models in the Mingus series.
The Marten Mingus Septet is priced from €108,000 (depending on wooden finishes) and can be upgraded to the Statement Edition using Jorma Statement wiring from €122,000.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
