B-SHARP WITH EUROPEAN AUDIO TEAM TURNTABLE
European Audio Team (E.A.T) is a turntable company that flies under the radar, but don't let that put you off.
In the grand revival of turntables, the newer brands often struggle for exposure against the big names with decades of experience (and marketing) under their belt.
But here’s the secret. E.A.T might be a relatively new brand, but it in fact does have decades of experience. Owner and CEO Jozefina Lichtenegger is married to Pro-Ject’s founder, Heinz Lichtenegger.
Was it a case of friendly rivalry and a bet made at the dinner table of who could sell the most turntables? We’ll never know, but we do know that E.A.T turntables are designed, manufactured, and pitched at a high-end buyer.
StereoNET reviewed the C-Sharp turntable early this year concluding:
The C-Sharp displays incredible value for money with its low noise output and controlled sonics that are both well focused and mature in nature with an incisive and well detailed presentation.
The C-Sharp hits the local market at $3999 RRP without cartridge and by all reports has sold very successfully to date in Australia.
Announced this week by the Czech Republic based brand is the imminent arrival of a new entry level turntable within the range, the B-Sharp.
And while E.A.T may consider the B-Sharp an ‘entry-level’ turntable, the truth is this range kicks in where many brands taper off.
For the B-Sharp, in their own words:
This turntable sheds all the non-essential cosmetic adornments… without compromising performance or mechanical integrity.
It shares the same TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) suspension system as big brother, C-Major. It features adjustable feet and can be bought with or without a factory-installed Ortofon 2M Blue Cartridge.
The B-Sharp comes with E.A.T.’s own B-Note carbon-fibre tonearm which is said to be “rigid, yet light” and a black anodised headshell.
Unlike traditional ‘entry-level’ turntables, the B-Sharp also features adjustable VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle), SRA (Stylus Rake Angle), VTF (Vertical Tracking Force), azimuth, and overhang/offset angle.
The package comes with a hinged dustcover, low mass aluminium record clamp and a felt platter mat.
If you’re serious about vinyl playback and want a realistically priced high-end turntable, put this one on your audition list.
The European Audio Team B-Sharp turntable will be available from specialist retailers from next week for $1,999 RRP without cartridge, or $2,199 RRP including an Ortofon Blue cartridge.
