LEN WALLIS HONOURED BY HIS PEERS

Len Wallis, owner of Len Wallis Audio Australia’s most iconic hi-fi stores has been inducted to the CEDIA fellows programs.
The prestigious award is given by CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design And Installation Association) to long-time members and volunteers who have made a substantial contribution to the association’s success.
Two other members received the honour at this year’s CEDIA 2017 and these were David Graham MD of London’s Graham Hi-Fi and Julie Jacobson, co-founder of EH Media.
A typically gracious and most humble Len Wallis spoke to StereoNET from America today after accepting the fellowship from CEDIA.
It is an acknowledgement of contribution to the industry and the organisation, (I think). It was a great night, and I was really flattered and honoured. Len Wallis Audio has benefited a great deal from our association with CEDIA, so to receive this type of recognition was somewhat surreal and unexpected,
Wallis continued:
CEDIA has a global reputation for excellence and in concert with CEDIA Australia has helped raise the skill level and quality of work undertaken by Australian audio-video professionals.
CEDIA Chairman, Dennis Erskine acknowledged the three recipients praising them for their generosity and time, stating:
These CEDIA members have had a profound impact on our association, and we are incredibly thankful for their dedication, generosity of time and knowledge, and significant contributions to the association,
Len Wallis has a distinguished career in Australia’s audio industry whilst simultaneously earning an enviable reputation internationally for the quality and originality of his company’s custom installation, home automation and integration systems.
Len Wallis Audio custom installations designed for consumers in many overseas countries, feature regularly in global magazines for their excellence and aesthetics.
Len has spent his working life in audio, starting as a salesperson for MS Sound in 1970. He opened Len Wallis Audio (LWA) in 1978 as a one-man show, and is still very involved in the daily management of the company.
Len Wallis is one of CEDIA’s inaugural Australian members and was a founding member of the association here in 1995.
He went on to serve on the board for many years and served as CEDIA Australia’s chairman twice. He has also volunteered his services as a presenter at many CEDIA expos.
Len Wallis Audio’s work and reputation was acknowledged by CEDIA in the US when it gave the business a “Dealer Of The Year Award’’ in 2001. Significantly this was the first time a company outside of the U.S. received this award.
The same year, Len received the prestigious CEDIA Lifetime Award. Len Wallis Audio projects have gone on to accrue more than 35 local CEDIA Awards.
StereoNET wishes to extend our congratulations also to Len, an asset to the Australian audio-video industry.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
