Atonemo Streamplayer Promises to Make Any Speaker Smart

Atonemo is shaking up the way we stream music with its debut product, the Streamplayer.
This pocket-sized device is designed to bring modern streaming capabilities to any speaker, amplifier, or audio system—regardless of brand, age, or connectivity options.
The company says that while speaker brands have mastered sound and design, many struggle with keeping up with streaming technology, often locking users into proprietary ecosystems or outdated connectivity. Atonemo’s approach is different—it wants users to choose speakers for their sound, not their software.
The Streamplayer is built to breathe new life into existing audio setups, whether that’s a vintage hi-fi system, high-end passive speakers, or even a Bluetooth speaker. By offering support for AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and more, the compact device ensures that speakers stay relevant and fully integrated into modern smart homes without costly upgrades or subscriptions.
Atonemo claims its plug-and-play approach keeps things refreshingly simple. The Streamplayer connects via USB-C for power and an aux port for audio output, with support for analog and digital inputs. It features WiFi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and LE Audio Auracast for stable, high-quality streaming. Audiophiles will be pleased to hear that it includes a 24-bit/192 kHz lossless DAC and a 10-band graphic equaliser for fine-tuning playback.
Unlike some streaming solutions that push users toward proprietary apps, Atonemo says its dedicated app is intentionally minimal—used only for setting up, grouping speakers, and adjusting equaliser settings. According to the company, the focus is on a seamless experience that “just works.”
Atonemo’s founder and CEO, Leo Ballesteros, believes the industry has long forced consumers to compromise between superb sound and modern software integration, he told StereoNET:
Speakers should be about sound and design—Atonemo takes care of the rest. We are here to breathe new life into all the beautiful speakers, amplifiers, and systems already out there, ensuring they remain timeless while embracing modern technology.
Atonemo has appointed Apex Audio Group to oversee sales and distribution in key markets, including the UK, as part of its launch strategy. The company says this partnership will help accelerate its reach, ensuring that its products reach forward-thinking retailers and integrators worldwide.
The Streamplayer will be available this spring in the Northern Hemisphere, priced at £99 / US$99 / €99.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
