The new set is the Beovision Contour. The Contour’s 48-inch screen makes it B&O’s smallest OLED TV to date - a useful addition to the range for living rooms where space is limited; second rooms such as kitchens and bedrooms; or designer rooms where installing a bigger screen just isn’t an aesthetic option!

Not that there’s anything in the least bit ugly about the Beovision Contour, of course. In fact, it’s another B&O design masterclass. 

For starters, its screen is beautifully built into the top of a deep, full-width speaker enclosure. The aluminium screen frame, meanwhile, is available in Silver, Black Anthracite or Gold Tone, with matching fabric or even Light or Smoked Oak wood veneer finishes available for the speaker cover. 

You can mount the Beovision Contour on one of three different stand options, too: An aluminium floor stand on which the TV can be manually rotated through 180 degrees to either side; a wall bracket that again lets you move and angle the TV to suit your seating position; and a tabletop stand made from a solid, rectangular aluminium billet. 

An innovative cable management system means the Contour’s lovely lines don’t have to be spoiled by cable spaghetti either, even if you’re looking at its rear.

As usual with B&O TVs, that big built-in speaker isn’t just for show. It carries 11 powerful main drivers and amplifiers, along with four custom-designed four-inch bass drivers capable of getting down to 30Hz. It also borrows audio technology from B&O’s award-winning Beosound Stage Dolby Atmos soundbar.

In short, the Beovision Contour is a massively powerful audio and visual system in one small(ish), luxuriously designed package. 

If you want B&O’s OLED TV DNA in something a bit bigger, you should look at the newly launched second generation of the Beovision Eclipse. Available in 55 and 65-inch screens, the big news with the revamped Eclipses is that they now incorporate the latest 2020 GX TVs from OLED panel supplier LG Electronics, along with an upgrade to their integrated ‘sound-centres’. 

The GX screens draw on an improved processing engine to deliver even better picture quality than the first generation of Eclipse TVs, while the powerful built-in three-channel stereo sound system delivers, among other things, even crisper, more detailed dialogue. 

It’s also now possible to connect (either wired or wirelessly) extra Beolab speakers to the Eclipse via a built-in decoder, enabling you to set up a fully-fledged 7.1-channel surround sound system. As if all this wasn’t enough already, the Eclipses can also now be added to a motorised floor stand or wall bracket.

The last development in B&O’s OLED TV range is a new stand design for the brand’s spectacular Beovision Harmony. The Harmony design seeks to minimise its impact on your living room when you’re not watching it by lifting the massive, remarkably powerful speaker section up to cover a portion of the screen. And now it can have its design even further enhanced by adding a new motorised stand.

This can turn the screen at the touch of a button to face different seating positions, or turn back flat to the wall when you’re not watching it. What’s more, the new stand is available in Silver, Brass Tone, Bronze tone or Gold Tone, to match the colour options available for the Harmony’s aluminium speaker cover options.

Australian pricing and availability have not yet been confirmed, however, overseas the new B&O OLED treats shapes up as follows: the Beovision Contour, inc. wall bracket (5700 EUR / 5150 GBP / 40000 DKK) and Beovision Eclipse-55 2nd Gen, inc. motorised floor stand (9955 EUR / 8650 GBP / 73100 DKK) are available in Europe from November 2020. Global availability will begin from February 2021. 

The Beovision Harmony 65-inch inc. wood covers and motorised floor stand (17400 EUR / 15100 GBP / 127400 DKK) is available now.
