BenQ Announces GV30 Mini Portable Projector with 2.1 Channel Sound

BenQ builds on its recent momentum in the portable projector market with the release of the GV30, a mini portable projector and world-first with 2.1 channel Bluetooth audio.
The GV30 supports 2.1 channel audio systems with separate high/midrange drivers and a dedicated woofer for bass frequencies. Tuned by the same team that brought BenQ's treVolo audio product to reality, according to BenQ, "the system employs acoustic and psychoacoustic sciences to balance cinematic sound properties and enhance depth, clarity, definition, presence, and stereo field imaging". The GV30 features Cinema, Game, Sports and Music modes.
In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, the GV30 is completely wireless, with onboard Android TV for instant access to Google Play and live-streaming apps, movies, shows, sports and games, as well as social media and wireless casting from iOS and Android devices and laptops.
The GV30 provides a wide 135° projection angle range for versatile placement and is easy to set up with auto focus and auto keystone features. BenQ says its GV30 delivers the Rec. 709 colour gamut, with 300 ANSI lumens, approximately 720 LED lumens, and 5000 light source lumens brightness with 720p HD resolution.
Finally, the GV30 mini portable projector is perfect for outdoor or camping movie nights with its "generous battery life to enjoy full-length feature films".
The BenQ GV30 is expected to be available by early October 2021 and will sell in Australia for $999 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
