Blending Gorgeous Waveform Artwork with Fundraising for Charity

If you're looking for some new art to decorate your walls, Soundwaves Art Foundation's offerings are not only unique, but you'll be contributing to a good cause too.

The company produces limited prints of uniquely generated artwork via an art process that customises the recorded sound waves of songs, with options for hand-autographed copies that will no doubt delight fans.

In 2005, artist Tim Wakefield combined his love for music with a decade of experience fundraising for charity with artwork, and Soundwaves Art Foundation was born. The company states that sales in over 91 countries have raised over US$7.5 million, with profits going to organisations like War Child UK, Notes for Notes, and other charities and causes.

These artworks have three different options: an "unsigned" print with a small signature in the corner by Tim Wakefield and is typically limited to 200 prints. Or, there are "signed" prints with the signature of the singer or band members, limited to quantities of 50-100 prints.

Finally, there are "original" prints that come with not only a signature but typically with a lyric or the song's title hand-written by someone from the band, and are also much more limited.

The company has now added the option to get the prints framed in-house for an additional fee. Custom framing is also available for the "original" prints upon request.

With prices ranging from US$75 (£57.54) for a mini-sized unsigned print to over US$4,000 (£3,835.94) for original prints such as Queen's We Will Rock You signed by Brian May, there will be something for every budget. Additionally, there is a wide variety of singers and bands to choose from, ranging from classics like Duran Duran and Def Leppard to more modern options like Fall Out Boy and Billie Eilish

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
