Bottega Audio Galileo 335 Marks a New Chapter in Italian Hi-Fi Craftsmanship

Italian loudspeaker manufacturer Bottega Audio has announced the launch of the Galileo 335, a statement 3-way loudspeaker handcrafted in Trieste that blends acoustic precision with the elegance of Italian design.

Representing years of development, the Galileo 335 is the company’s new flagship, aiming to transcend traditional expectations of what a high-end loudspeaker can be.

Described by its makers as more than just a speaker, the Galileo 335 is presented as an object of art as much as a tool of sonic expression. Internally and externally, every element has been engineered for performance and purpose. From its sculptural form to using materials such as Alcantara for the baffle, Bottega says the Galileo 335 is a statement of both sonic integrity and design sophistication.

At its heart is a 3-way, closed cabinet design featuring a 28mm silk dome tweeter, a 7-inch midrange driver, and a 13-inch paper-coned woofer. This combination is said to produce a wide, holographic soundstage with deep, articulate bass, a transparent midrange, and extended, airy highs. Efficiency is rated at 90dB with a 4-ohm nominal impedance, and the frequency response is quoted as 20Hz to 25kHz (±3dB).

Each pair is built by hand with what Bottega Audio describes as “obsessive attention to detail,” continuing the brand’s slow, purposeful manufacturing philosophy. The result, the company claims, is a product that delivers clarity and control and captures the emotion and nuance within the music—what it calls “revealing the soul of the sound.”

A spokesperson for Bottega Audio told StereoNET:

The Galileo 335 is not mass-produced. It is built to be experienced and loved—by those who demand aesthetic excellence and sonic enjoyment.

The launch of the Galileo 335 also marks a milestone in Bottega Audio’s journey, which began in 2005 when founders Salvatore and David, both accomplished musicians and artisans, opened a small audio workshop in Trieste. Their goal was to create loudspeakers that didn’t just reproduce sound but conveyed the warmth and expression of live performance. What began as a space for music lovers and local musicians evolved into a boutique brand known for its craftsmanship and attention to musicality.

The Galileo 335 is available now, priced at €44,500 per pair. Customers may customise the cabinet in matte or gloss finishes, with options for the front baffle in Alcantara, leather, or wood. The precision-machined aluminium support is available in black, natural silver, or custom anodised finishes. At this stage, the Galileo 335 is available directly from Bottega Audio.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
