Bowers & Wilkins cuts the cable on P7 Headphones

Bowers & Wilkins hugely successful P7 headphones have been given a new lease of life, with the announcement of the release of the new P7 Wireless.
The P7 Wireless headphones build upon the original P7 that benefited from acoustic advances found with the original drive units. The new P7 Wireless features Bluetooth aptX connectivity which delivers a seamless audio experience, just like before, but without the cables. The P7 Wireless sets a new standard for on-the-go listening from Bowers & Wilkins.
What's the big deal about wireless? Aside from the convenience of tangle-free listening, ongoing speculation of Apple's possible deletion of the headphone jack means your investment might not be wasted.
Bowers & Wilkins' P7 Wireless can be paired with any of the most popular Bluetooth-enabled devices such as a phone, tablet or computer. Once paired, it’s as simple as switching on and pressing play. Onboard controls are conveniently located on the side.
John Martin, Brand Manager for Bowers & Wilkins in Australia told StereoNET:
P7 Wireless' beating heart is the drive unit, painstakingly developed to unearth every note in your music, allowing discerning users to stream Hi-Fi quality music on the go to a quality never experienced before. P7 Wireless delivers all the highs and lows of your favourite music, while the ultra-soft memory foam cushioning creates a comfortable and high-quality listening experience.
As you would expect the P7 Wireless is crafted from the finest materials, including aluminium and sheep leather, for performance, luxury and durability. The headphones are foldable, making them easy to travel with, while the luxurious design continues with a carry case that keeps your P7 Wireless safe when not in use.
Bowers & Wilkins says you can expect 17 hours of wireless playback from the rechargeable battery. The P7 Wireless are easily charged from a supplied USB cable.
John continued:
P7 Wireless is a welcome addition to the growing collection of headphones from Bowers & Wilkins. Worn over the ear, with the added comfort and noise blocking of memory foam cushions, they follow in the footsteps of the on-ear P5 Wireless, both made with the same knowledge and experience in acoustic excellence that only Bowers & Wilkins can deliver.
Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless will be available from September 2016 for $599.95 RRP.
To coincide with this release, Australia's Bowers & Wilkins distributor, Convoy, have also announced substantial price reductions across their entire headphone range. Speak to your local dealer for pricing.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
