Bowers & Wilkins P7 Headphones Released

Building upon the success of the highly acclaimed B&W P5 'on-ear' headphones, comes the announcement of the P7 Mobile Hi-Fi 'over-ear' headphones, an all-new design that delivers an enveloping, pristine listening experience.
The first over-ear headphone from B&W, the P7 is a combination of new drive unit technology, luxurious materials and a clever folding design, according to B&W.
"Occasionally, a product comes along that completely redefines your expectation of what's possible. The stunning P7 headphones elevate the listening experience to an entirely new plateau; once you put these on you will never want to take them off!" - Geoff Mathews, CEO of Australian B&W Distributor, Convoy International.
B&W have obviously poured hours into research and development to evolve the P7 model, resulting in tighter bass, more defined vocals and a wonderful sense of space, balance and clarify across the whole frequency range.
P7's dual-cavity construction helps the pads mould to the contours of the wearer's head to provide high levels of comfort. B&W says this design maintains a consistent volume of air between the drive unit and the surface of the ear at both sides of the head. Not only is stereo imaging enhanced, but the sound is optimised for every listener.
Discerning listeners expect high levels of quality from B&W, and no corners have been cut in terms of build and materials. Made up of the finest materials including brushed and stainless steel, luxuriously soft leather and a folding mechanism B&W refer to as 'ingenious', the P7 should be a delight to listen to for long listening sessions.
Bowers & Wilkins' P7 has an October 2013 release date and will be available from Apple, B&W specialist retailers, as well as selected Harvey Norman, JB HiFi and David Jones stores, priced at $499.95.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
