BRYSTON SP4 16-CHANNEL HOME CINEMA PROCESSOR LANDS IN UK VIA PMC

PMC, Canadian-based Bryston's UK distributor, is introducing the SP4 surround processor to the UK high-end home cinema market. Furthermore, you can meet it at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show.
The Bryston SP4 offers the benefits of state-of-the-art technology to those looking for the very best from their home cinemas.
The SP4 is a 16-channel processor boasting16 assignable XLR outputs and two additional dedicated downmix outputs. If that isn't enough, you can expand it to become a 32-channel system via a set of 16 optional RCA sockets. Taking this route enables the SP4 to run two parallel 16 channel systems. The SP4's Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and DTS:X TM capabilities sit alongside conventional surround formats, providing maximum flexibility in setting up and a truly immersive cinematic experience.
Additionally, Dirac Live room correction technology is built in ensuring perfect master quality performance and lifelike audio.
The Bryston SP4 features seven HDMI inputs, three of which have HDMI2.0/HDCP2.2 and four have HDMI1.4/HDCP2.2. Furthermore, the latter four inputs can be configured for HDMI2.0/HDCP2.2.
Three optical Toslink and three SPDIF RCA digital audio inputs round off the digital side. Moreover, you do not miss out on Bryston’s analogue audio expertise as you also get eight RCA single-ended inputs for use as 7.1 or four stereo inputs. The 16 balanced XLR outputs permit the most excellent quality analogue signal transfer to the power amplifiers. Digital signals can also be output via the two HDMI sockets. The SP4 can be controlled using Savant, RTI, Control4 and Crestron (with plugin modules). Finally, for those without control systems, there is an iOS app and webpage available.
Online connectivity enables trained installers to remotely monitor the SP4's status as well as reconfigure it for you.
Thanks to being built on a 3U modular platform, the Bryston engineers can integrate future advanced technologies as well as make upgrades available and so future-proof the product.
Ian Sutton, PMC UK Distribution divisional director, told StereoNET:
When Bryston design any product they do it the best it can be done. Their amplifiers and digital audio products are legendary in the worlds of high-end domestic and professional audio, and with the SP4 they have brought this same passion for creating the best to the home cinema world. True connoisseurs of home cinema, who want totally uncompromised performance and a truly flexible system, have been waiting for a product as good as the SP4. And now it’s here!
The SP4 is available now in the UK with an MSRP of £14,500
PMC is on the Ground Floor in SS Great Britain 2, and SS Great Britain 3 of the show.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
