Convoy International Expands Local Team

Convoy, distributors of JBL, Bowers & Wilkins, Bluesound, Music Hall and Classe in Australia have announced the appointment of David Trevaskis to their Product Sales team as they continue to claw at market share in the specialist HiFi market.

After exiting the mass market as a supplier earlier this year, Convoy's CEO Geoff Mathews spoke of his excitement that the specialist market now offers thanks to emerging technologies and the products specialist dealers now offer.

I can’t recall a more exciting time for music and sound enthusiasts. We are witnessing an amazing transformation of our Component Audio business into a High Definition landscape.

Focusing their resources on the specialist dealer market has already seen them expand their dealer network and offer greater service and support than ever before.

As part of the planned growth in the immediate future, Convoy today announced the appointment of David Trevaskis to the position of Product Sales Specialist for the territories of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. With many years experience in the specialist AV industry having worked for International Dynamics, Castel Electronics and more recently Amber technology, David has a strong understanding of the latest and emerging technologies and is a perfect fit for Convoy's team and future direction.

David's first call of duty with Convoy was at the recent Melbourne International HiFi Show, where Convoy impressively exibited in two rooms showcasing JBL, Music Hall, Bluesound, Bowers & Wilkins and Classe. Speaking with attendees and assisting with enquiries with Convoy, it's clear David is up to the task already and well knowledged in the brands and their respective products.

With over 51 years as a supplier in the Australian audio-visual industry, Convoy are proving they have the knowledge and experience to reinvent themselves and adapt to changing markets.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
