DALI KATCH Available This Month

DALI's already highly acclaimed KATCH portable Bluetooth speaker is available in Australia this month, but you'd better hurry. Global demand has already led to stock shortages so get in quick.
Available from the end of October for $699 RRP, they'll be available in very limited quantites initially.
There's a myriad of choices on the market today in the portable audio or lifestyle category for speakers. The ultimate embodiment of Dali's advanced digital technology and unique design know-how, they've combined both elements to create a loudspeaker that is as rich in sound as it is in style.
The KATCH is finished with an extruded aluminum body and ABS front, combined with a leather strap and supplied with a carry bag. KATCH makes a statement before you even turn it on.
The Danish company have developed an efficient Class-D amplifier that provides the 2 x 21mm soft-dome tweeters and 2 x 3.5" aluminium woofers with 18 watts of power.
You've probably used Bluetooth to connect to a speaker before, but KATCH steps it up another level with Bluetooth Apt-X; CD quality streaming from your smartphone, tablet or other device, limited only by your imagination. With a built-in USB charging port, add a Chromecast Audio dongle and integrate KATCH into home network or multi-room system. There's also a 3.5mm stereo input if you need to make a hard-wired connection.
So how long can you listen? DALI says that a 2-hour charge will see KATCH offer up to 24-hours of untethered sound from the 2600 mAh battery.
To get in early for one of the three colours, including Dark Shadow, Cloud Gray and Green Moss, you'll need to register your interest with DALI Australia to pre-order.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
