EMT Available in Australia via Pure Music Group

Mahlberg, Germany based EMT (Elektro-Mess-Technik) is now available in Australia via distributor Pure Music Group. EMT was founded in 1940 manufacturing professional measuring devices and turntables for Broadcast, TV and Recording Studios.
Over 75 years they have pioneered many new technologies, and in 2016 were awarded the Technical Grammy Award presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in USA.
In the domestic market they're more well-known for their range of phono cartridges, which PMG has now made available in Australia.

Warwick Freemantle of Pure Music Group told StereoNET:
EMT cartridges are fantastically neutral, yet tonally rich and have a wonderfully musical sound signature. Noteworthy is that the output level is 1.0mV so that you can partner them with almost any Moving Coil compatible phono preamp. Cartridges with lower outputs of 0.2-0.3mV that are commonly found, require a phono preamp with exceptionally low noise and high gain in order to perform at their best, or the addition of a step up transformer to increase the gain. So if your phono preamp is struggling with these cartridges, then switching to an EMT cartridge would be a better solution that adding a step up transformer.
Pure Music Group will also make available the EMT Jubilee Series line preamplifier with integrated phono stage that can accept 4 phono inputs and 2 line level inputs. One of the finest and most flexible units of its type in the world, it has fully adjustable equaliser settings enabling the correct replay of vintage or the most up to date recordings in Mono or Stereo. "It can be used with virtually any phono cartridge and is capable of driving nearly every tube or transistor power amplifier for accurate, dynamic music reproduction." Warwick continued.
StereoNET met with EMT president, Jules Limon, at the High End Show in Munich, Germany, earlier this year to understand more about the company. Most impressed by the products on offer we'll have a hands-on look in the coming months.
Auditions are now available, for more information contact Pure Music Group.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
