HiFi Rose Products Land in the UK and Ireland

Products from South Korean high-end streaming specialist, HiFi Rose, are now available in the UK and Ireland.
HiFi Rose describes itself as offering Audiophile products designed to compliment people's lifestyles. It also states that it focuses on ease of use, flexibility, excellent build quality, and top quality audio Performance.
The first two products available to the UK and Irish markets are the RS201 E Professional Hi-Fi Media Player (£1,749) and RS150 High-performance network streamer (£3,899).
HiFi Rose RS201 E
The RS201 E is pitched as the brand's ultimate music streamer, DAC and amplifier. Boasting an 8.8-inch wide multi-touch touchscreen and support for digital audio playback up to 32-bit / 384KHz (PCM) and DSD256 (Native DSD). Airplay, Roon Ready and Spotify Connect streaming are all compatible with Qobuz, and TIDAL baked in with the media player also being MQA certified thanks to complete decoding skills.
You can also use the HiFi Rose RS201 E to playback or rip CDs from external optical drives connected by USB, while the unit's built-in 100W power amplifier is said to be capable of driving speaker loads from 4 – 16Ω. Connectivity includes RCA for line in and pre-amp out, as well as both optical in and out.
Additionally, there is HDMI for 4K video output to a connected TV (via Tidal, Rose Tube or Video apps), Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth 4.0 (AD2DP SINK, AVRCP). Finally, as well as Micro SD and USB ports for storage devices there is also room for an internal SATA drive.
HiFi Rose RS150
Meanwhile, the RS150's sturdy high-purity milled aluminium casement encloses extensive DAC functions and a bespoke transformer design, we are told.
The fascia is dominated by a 14.9-inch wide HD IPS Touch Screen LCD behind which is a Hexacore CPU and Mali-T864 GPU promising a seamless software experience. At its heart beats an Asahi Kasei VERITA AK4499EQ DAC with support for VELVET SOUND technology.
While the RS150's streaming skillset matches the RS201 E it also adds Roon Ready to that list and further extensive input options including HDMI-ARC, AES/EBU and adjustable I2S connections. The high-end streamer is also bundled with a linear power supply and "ideal circuit system for improved sound quality without distortion", says the manufacturer.
Sean Kim, Director of Communication and Media Sales at HiFi Rose, told StereoNET:
We hope that HiFi Rose's entry into the UK market will bring new pleasure to music lovers. We hope you enjoy the original high-quality music provided by HiFi Rose products with 4K video.
Managing Director of Henley Audio, Laurence Armstrong, said of the new relationship:
We could not be more excited about handling the UK and Ireland rollout of the HiFi Rose brand. What their team have produced is a truly exceptional user experience, housed in products that deliver both acoustically and aesthetically. Integrating the control interface through touchscreens in the way they have (while still also delivering a full-feature app for remote control) is truly unique, and there is almost no aspect of the musical signal they are not in complete control of.
Henley Audio is now offering sales, technical support, service and marketing for all HiFi Rose products in the UK and Ireland.
WHAT WE THINK
HiFi Rose seems to be another talented digital audio brand to add to the list for those looking for something with a modern aesthetic and ability. Furthermore, navigating via the Android-based interface will be second nature to many and should prove to be ultimately user friendly. Congratulations to both HiFi Rose and Henley Audio on their partnership and we look forward to checking out the South Korean brand more in the future, hopefully.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
