Interdyn Opens New Warehouse in Response to COVID-19

Interdyn, the Melbourne based importer of leading audio-video brands has responded quickly to Victorian COVID-19 restrictions by opening a new warehouse in Western Sydney.

The third warehouse adds to Interdyn's existing Melbourne and Auckland locations and will mirror the Melbourne warehouse, with over $1M worth of stock already being received into the new site.

While Melbourne retailers are closed to the public under new Victorian restrictions, freight and logistics are permitted to continue working in a limited capacity. With the increased demand in Victoria for freight services as a result of online shopping, Interdyn moved quickly to ensure its customers across the country would still receive orders promptly if freight services slow down or face further restrictions.

In a communication sent to its specialist retailers, Sam Encel, Co-Director of Interdyn, said:

You can continue to place orders with us safe in the knowledge that we are experiencing no significant delays in logistics, and that the risk of disruption is now lowered significantly. We also expect to continue performing warranty repairs for Australia-based customers during Stage 4.

Sam also added that the uncertainty going forward for potential further  national restrictions led Interdyn to "prioritise the protection of our supply chain to ensure that our dealers and customers have the best stock availability possible."

The two warehouse points in Melbourne and Sydney, along with the Auckland warehouse servicing the New Zealand market, adds "additional insulation from any disruptions at a local warehousing and freight level."

There are unconfirmed reports that one smaller Melbourne-based distributor using external warehousing and logistics services was closed earlier this week for deep-cleaning and contact tracing following a positive COVID-19 case.

Opening a new warehouse, filling it with stock and having operations in place to manage the logistics for fulfilling orders doesn't just happen overnight. Yet, only one day into Melbourne's new restrictions, Interdyn has seemingly done so.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
