JAMO CONCERT 9 II RANGE UPDATE ANNOUNCED

Jamo announces its updated Concert 9 II Series range.
Jamo is known for its Danish design principles and has the backing of the renowned Klipsch Group. Today the brand has announced its updating of the Concert 9 speaker range.
Following the updates brought to the Jamo Studio 8 last year, the Concert 9 II passive speaker line which consists of two tower speakers (C 97 II and C 95 II), two monitors (C 93 II and C 91 II), a centre channel (C 9 CEN II) and a surround speaker (C9 SUR II) get a refresh.
The Concert 9 II range employs Hybrid Composition Conical Cones (HCCC) for its main drivers. The purpose-chosen woofers are "capable of remaining clean and clear in their sonic presentation, even when being driven hard". The word is that ability is due to the cone's stiff-compliant-stiff (SCS) sandwich cone structure.
Additionally, Jamo utilises Long Displacement Surround (LDS) technology to optimise the suspension system around the woofers.
The overall result is a "clean and clear mid- and low-end that transitions effortlessly with the tweeter's performance."
On the subject of the Concert 9 II's silk dome tweeter, it features on every model in the range. With a custom designed diaphragm, it features a larger surround for extended frequency response, and an under-hung voice coil centred in ferromagnetic fluid for minimal distortion. Furthermore, the tweeter is mounted using Jamo's Anti-Diffraction WaveGuide (ADW) technology.
The C 97 II is a 3-way reflex floorstander and the C 95 a 2-way as is the rest of the range except for the C 9 SUR II which is a 3-way sealed unit. Sitting at the top of the range, the C 97 II boasts a frequency response of 32-24,000Hz and an 89db sensitivity. You can also bi-wire the 24.5kg (each) towers.
Finally, Concert 9 II now also boasts updated aesthetics with natural textiles. The new specifications include furniture-grade, scratch-resistant Black Ash and a limited-edition White Oak finish. Each Concert 9 II speaker is designed to blend seamlessly into modern environments.
Additionally, there's new, premium magnetic grilles (charcoal grey on the Black Ash finish and heather grey on the White Oak), satin painted MDF baffles with a neat rounded finish, polished chrome logos and cast metal stabiliser feet on the floorstanders.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
