JAMO STUDIO S 801 PM ACTIVE BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS

Jamo has announced its new S 801 PM bookshelf speakers that join the stylishly Danish Studio 8 series.
The new Jamo S 801 PM speakers (£289.00 SRP) combine innovative contemporary design and advanced acoustic technologies, says the brand. Additionally, we are told to expect a balanced, natural sound performance with the absolute pinnacle of simplicity in set-up and operation.
The S 801 PM may be small, but it has been designed to provide exceptional output.
Using the Jamo S 801 passive speaker design as its base, it boasts a sturdy MDF construction that features rear-firing reflex ports for effective bass control.
The 1-inch soft-dome tweeters are augmented through WaveGuide technology for better dynamics and sound performance. Additionally,l the aluminised polyfibre woofers look the part and promise deep, accurate bass from a small footprint.
The S 801 PM's array of inputs and outputs make them ideal for those looking for a flexible active speaker but who are tight on space. Also, the new Jamos will likely suit those looking to build a first system or even a second room solution.
Naturally, the S 801 PM can accept wireless Bluetooth streaming, but they are equally happy through wired connections. The rear panel sports Optical, USB and stereo RCA inputs.
The S 801 PM are available in two high-quality matte vinyl finishes and feature wood-grain accents around the tweeter and at the base. For a premium feel, they also have no visible fixings and are supplied with magnetic woven grilles. They even come with a bundled remote control with batteries as well as USB cables.
Price and availability
The Jamo S 801 PM are available now in black with the white finish following in the Autumn. Both colours have an SRP of £289.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
