JBL Classic Amp, Streamer, CD Player and Turntable Launched

HARMAN Luxury Audio introduces JBL Classic Series integrated amplifier, streaming media player, CD player, and turntable at HARMAN Explore.
HARMAN Luxury Audio Group has unveiled the latest additions to its JBL Classic Series, including the new SA550 Classic integrated amplifier, MP350 Classic streaming media player, CD350 Classic CD player, and TT350 Classic turntable.
JBL's Classic Series promises timeless design and modern technology. These latest electronic components carry this tradition as they join the award-winning range of passive and active Classic Series loudspeakers, including the iconic L100 Classic.
Inspired by the JBL SA600 amplifier from the 1960s, as well as 2021's SA750 integrated amplifier introduced to celebrate JBL's 75th Anniversary, you can expect retro styling using the same natural walnut wood veneers as the Classic Series loudspeakers. Additionally, there are machined aluminium faceplates and controls. However, behind this classic styling, you'll find the latest hi-res digital and analogue audio electronics, enabling you to create a complete Classic Series audio system with a unique combination of retro design, thoroughly modern features, and acoustic performance.
The JBL SA550 Classic integrated amplifier and MP350 Classic music player make it simple for users to stream music services and personal libraries from their smartphones and tablets. You will find "advanced Class G amplifier topology" with high power output and the latest Bluetooth AptX Adaptive technology for hi-res wireless audio and low latency. The SA550 Classic can be paired with mobile devices right out of the box for instant, high-quality music.
Once connected to a home network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the Roon-ready MP350 Classic music player allows listeners to enjoy music directly from Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, as well as a host of additional music services via the Google Chromecast or Apple Airplay ecosystems.
Both components render digital audio using a "reference hi-res DAC" with time domain jitter elimination for perfect sound every time.
HARMAN's CD350 Classic and TT350 Classic offer you a retro-modern spin on listening to CDs and vinyl records.
Supporting CD, CD-R, and CD-RW playback, and FLAC, WAV, MP3, AAC, and WMA file formats, the CD350 Classic combines a robust tray loading mechanism and USB-A input with advanced hi-res digital technology for bit-perfect sound.
Meanwhile, the TT350 Classic features a direct drive motor that promises accurate rotation at 33.3 and 45 rpm. The turntable's curved aluminium tonearm features a high-quality moving magnet cartridge pre-installed on a removable headshell for easy replacement and upgrade. Furthermore, damped and adjustable feet reduce vibration ingress to the record while allowing for positioning on uneven surfaces, says HARMAN. The TT350 also has a retro-cool tinted hinged dust cover to match its walnut wood chassis. Naturally, this turntable is said to perfectly fit the high-performance phono preamplifier input included with the SA550 and SA750 integrated amplifiers.
The SA550 Classic, CD350 Classic, MP350 Classic, and TT350 Classic will be available in the second quarter of 2023 with manufacturer-suggested retail prices of £1,599/ €1,899, £799/ €899, £875/ €999, and £925/ €1049, respectively.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
