KEF KW1 Wireless Subwoofer Kit Cuts the Cables

KEF has announced its KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter kit that works with the KEF Kube and KF92 subwoofers.
The KEF KW1 is an easy to use wireless transmitter and receiver kit designed to work with the KEF Kube and KF92 subwoofers. KEF says that the KW1 will make things a lot easier when it comes to placing your subwoofer in your system by cutting the cables.
The KW1 connects wirelessly to the KEF subs through their expansion port. All you have to do is connect the KW1 transmitter unit to the variable line-out or subwoofer port and connect to power using the micro USB connector.
Then, plug in a receiver to the expansion port at the back of your KEF Kube 8b, 10b, 12b or KF92. The transmitter sends a 48kHz/24-bit audio stream to the sub - you can even add another sub, as long as it also is kitted out with a second receiver.
Thanks to the switchable 5.2GHz/5.8GHz RF set-up, you can place your subs with almost total freedom, as long as the transmitter and receiver are with 90 feet of each other.
KEF promises a highly stable, high-resolution connection and near-lossless audio performance as well as flawless bass synchronisation.
The KEF KW1 kit is available from September for $399 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
