KEF x Lotus LS60 Wireless Loudspeakers

KEF announces the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition loudspeakers in British Racing Green.
KEF provides the soundtrack to the Lotus Emira and, more recently, announced its continued partnership by doing the same for the Lotus Eletre Hyper-SUV. Today, these two iconic British brands are teaming up again to introduce an impressive collection of KEF x Lotus products for the home, the first being a special edition of the Applause Award-winning LS60, dubbed the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition.
To quote the press release, "With a shared obsession for creating exhilarating experiences and a long history of engineering excellence and design revolution, the KEF and Lotus journey has always centred on enriching the future of lifestyle." From this intention, the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition was born, a versatile speaker that seamlessly combines the latest technologies with excellent sound, inspired by Lotus' heritage colour - British Racing Green.
With an ultra-slim and contemporary design combined with a classically sleek finish, the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition fits effortlessly into a wide range of living spaces. KEF adds that "It takes 'track spirit' to an entirely new dimension."
Grace Lo, President and Head of Global Marketing at KEF, told StereoNET:
Together, we have been working closely to deepen our partnership, which has previously seen two British iconic brands collaborate to create an extraordinary in-car audio experience for Lotus users, and now will be extended from cars into homes with a series of co-branded KEF x Lotus home audio products, starting with the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition - a new milestone in our enduring partnership.
Yingjia Yao, Vice President of Group Lotus and Global Head of Lotus Life, added:
With the success of KEF audio in the Emira sports car and the prospect of further success in the Eletre Hyper-SUV, we have extended our collaboration into the world of home audio with the launch of the LS60 Wireless speaker. It is designed to vividly embody the streamlined style of the sports car; the colour is inspired by the historic Lotus colour palette.
KEF's LS60 was launched as part of the British speaker company's 60th anniversary year and boasts being the world's first Single Apparent Source wireless system.
The speaker tech includes a specially designed 12th Generation Uni-Q driver array, Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), 4 x 5.25-inch Uni-Core bass drivers and much more. KEF states this exclusive configuration provides a purer and more impactful sound, vanishingly low distortion, and maximises bass performance in a single unit. The total claimed system power is 1400W, with dedicated amplifiers powering HF, MF and LF.
This is all fed by KEF's W2 wireless platform enabling wireless connection between the speakers and compatible source. However, the system also offers a wide range of wired inputs. Set-up is simple thanks to out-of-the-box wireless compatibility and the KEF Connect app, so you will be streaming music and podcasts instantly at up to 24bit/384kHz, while the various connection options allow quick connection directly to a turntable, games console or TV.
The LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition and future collaborative designs for the home will be available from uk.kef.com and the new Lotus global flagship Brand Centre on London's Piccadilly. Lotus London is the brand's first digitally-driven showroom, a 'Hyper Space' that we're told embodies the manufacturer's bold, electrified future.
The KEF LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition: £7,000 per pair from uk.kef.com and Lotus London, 73 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London, W1J 8HS.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
