LEEMA ACOUSTICS ELEMENTS STREAMER NOW AVAILABLE

Powys UK-based audio experts, Leema Acoustics, has launched the Elements Streamer. The new high-quality space-saving network music player packs a high-performance DAC as well as Spotify Connect and Tidal integration; it will even play from a USB drive.
The official announcement of the Streamer follows its prototyped debut at UK's Bristol Show back in February 2018. Now, it is available worldwide following an extensive development and testing programme throughout 2018.
The new Elements Streamer is handmade in the Welshpool workshop. The latest Leema addition is the brainchild of Leema co-founder Lee Taylor who has also overseen the project from initiation to final assembly. The entry-level player is based on the same high-performance streaming module in Leema's higher-end Quasar amplifier. Additionally, the Streamer includes the top-flight ESS 9018 Sabre DAC featuring ESS-patented 32-bit Hyperstreamä DAC architecture and proprietary Time Domain Jitter Eliminator tech. All of that should add up to some pretty impressive sounding audio.
The Leema Streamer can ‘push' and ‘pull' music to and from suitable DLNA/UPnP devices on the same network. So, you are able to share music across a wide range of networked devices around the home; for example smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, NAS drives and streaming music servers.
As mentioned earlier, the Elements Streamer has built-in support for many music streaming services including Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz and vTuner radio; it also plays nice with Spotify connect (our Roon Ready compatibility query is still pending). As if all that wasn't enough, you can even play music from Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive as well as from USB drives.
Connectivity-wise the new Leema device has you covered, too. The Streamer offers both balanced and unbalanced outputs, optical and coaxial digital outputs, as well as a USB input and an Ethernet port. Twin Wi-Fi antennas provide increased signal stability, and an IEC inlet socket enables the use of high-performance power cables. In a further nod towards its audiophile credentials, the Elements Streamer benefits from a high-quality, low-noise analogue power supply.
The Elements Streamer is available now and will sell in Australia for $2,600 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
