LISTEN UP MUSIC USES HEALING POWER OF MUSIC FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Ali Taylor and Hank Paul know all about the healing power of music. The two friends are the driving force behind Listen Up Music and its Mental Health Music Training (MHMT), which is Australia’s first mental health training program designed to use the healing power of music.
The MHMT program is a highly praised and an effective 3-hour course for groups of 10-25 people. It’s structured so that those attending can ensure they have the skills required to support their teammates and others through any mental health or well-being challenge.
The course is particularly ideal for corporate teams, music industry professionals and school groups.
This interactive course covers four sections: Introduction to Mental Health, Mental Health and Your Workplace, Mental Health and Stigma, and Managing Mental Health in the Workplace.
Listen Up Music also runs an eagerly awaited nationwide songwriting competition that invites musicians across this vast country to write and submit an original song in response to a mental health issue.
The competition’s theme this year is “Songs that heal”.
Listen Up Music’s judges will compile a list of ten songs from each region to be performed at a Regional Semi-Final. The top three songs from each Semi-Final will then be performed at Listen Up Music’s Grand Final in Sydney.
Artists that have featured in this annual songwriting experience include Tempus Sun, SEB MONT and Leonie Kingdom.
More importantly, Listen Up Music needs your support. You can give it in two ways. You can spread the word about this wonderfully positive initiative, and you can also join Listen Up Music’s Ambassador Program.
Ambassadors have a key role in promoting and extending the reach of Listen Up Music’s message, and they can also attend a variety of this organisation’s events throughout the year including acting as judges for the songwriting competition along with handing out awards at Listen Up Music’s Award Night.
Listen Up Music’s Ambassador program has the sole purpose of growing its core message. By partnering with key music and arts industry people along with mental health advocates and professionals, and most importantly, its ambassadors, Listen Up Music contributes to the conversation around mental health to remove any stigma.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
