Logitech Releases PowerShell

Logitech are one of the innovators when it comes to audio-visual and technology products. Their latest release, announced today, is the PowerShell Controller + Battery, providing console-style game controls and increased game play-time for Apple iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPod Touch (5th Gen) devices.

This latest appcessory is the first of its kind, allowing users to simply insert their compatible iPod Touch or iPhone into the controller like you would a protective case. The analog off-screen controls of the Logitech PowerShell Controller + Battery deliver a gaming experience that’s familiar to console players everywhere, with a D-pad, shoulder triggers and face buttons that allow you to control game play.  You can use the entire screen for viewing the game, giving you a more immersive mobile gaming experience.

“We designed this controller to deliver a true console-gaming experience on an iOS 7 mobile device,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “With gaming so pervasive on the mobile platform – our research shows that 87% of iPhone and iPod touch users play games on their device – it’s time to revolutionize the experience.”

With your iPhone or iPod touch in the controller, you’ll maintain full access to power on/off, volume, camera, speakers, headphone jack and charging. And your controller’s 1500 mAh battery increases the battery capacity of your iPhone 5s, iPhone 5 or fifth-generation iPod touch. Plus, you can recharge both batteries without removing the phone from the controller.

At the time of release, iOS7 compatible games including Bastion, Fast & Furious 6: The Game, MetalStorm Aces, Galaxy On Fire 2™ HD and Nitro™ among others available from the App Store are compatible with the PowerShell Controller + Battery.

The Logitech PowerShell Controller + Battery is available from mid-December for $129.95 from the Apple Online Store and at Apple Retail Stores.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
