Lyngdorf Perfects Your Sound

Lyngdorf of Denmark, have announced the availability of their TDAI-2170, an Integrated Amplifier with RoomPerfect technology that promises to reproduce music the way it was meant to be heard.
The TDAI-2170 is a fully digital amplifier and also boasts flexible upgrade modules and RoomPerfect™ room correction technology, providing the formula for a sound experience that the company says "has left critics and listeners astounded."
Rated power is stated at 2 x 170w (4 Ohm), and being 100% digital there are no digital-to-analog conversions that can potentially deteriorate the sound quality. The digital signal drives the speakers directly, with no translation and no middleman.
Lyngdorf told StereoNET:
This unique and technically demanding solution offers noiseless and crystal clear replay at all sound levels. It will deliver the most enjoyable and uncolored sound you have ever experienced.
The room itself is often the most overlooked part of an audio system. The placement of your speakers and the shape and dynamics of the room, echoes, reflections, and absorption, have great influence on what you hear. Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect technology overcomes these problems by identifying the characteristics of your speakers and the influence of your room, and it takes the room out of the equation. With RoomPerfect, your speakers sound closer to how the manufacturer intended, with less interference and influence from the room itself.
With RoomPerfect you're not limited to impractical speaker placement. Place your speakers up against the wall to get the least amount of damaging reflections. From there, RoomPerfect will adapt the speaker to the room and remove any unwanted bass boom.RoomPerfect can also perfectly align an additional subwoofer and speakers’ frequency response, so differences between peaks and dips in the bass and midrange responses are eliminated. Now, your entire system is integrated and singing.
Thanks to modular construction, the TDAI-2170 can also be upgraded to suit your requirements. Modules exist for HDMI (4 inputs), USB DAC (384 kHz/32 bit, DXD and DSD64 & 128), and also a high-end analog input with 3 x RCA and 1 XLR input, an AKM-AK5394A processor handles the A/D conversion. Since analog signal levels can vary considerably, the input sensitivity of each input can be increased by up to 24dB. The sensitivity is adjusted in the pre-amp section before it is fed to the converter, granting full dynamic range for the conversion.
In a salute to modern industrial design, the amplifier’s chassis is built like a tank and dressed in the signature black finish of Lyngdorf Audio. The design is complemented with black glass and aluminum in a sleek profile that complements any décor.
The Lyngdorf TDAI-2170 Integrated Amplifier is available now starting at $5,995 RRP, and $7,495 with all the available modules fitted.
Lyngdorf is distributed in Australia by Advance Audio.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
