McIntosh Amplifier Stands Added To Range

McIntosh's new amplifier stands, the AS125 and AS901, follows the recent news of its component rack, aiming to provide the perfect foundation for the USA-based audio manufacturer's hi-fi equipment.
The McIntosh AS125 is pitched as being ideally suited to be used with a range of monoblock amplifiers from the Binghamton brand and measures 10.3cm x 45.2cm x 45.7cm (HxWxD).
Meanwhile, the AS901 is specifically designed to support the McIntosh MC901 Dual Mono Amplifier. The AS901 has the same width and height as the AS125 but is 30cm deeper, measuring in at 75.7cm, the same length as the MC901. The manufacturer states that the AS901 will "perfectly complement the MC901 and display it proudly on an appropriately sized amplifier stand."
Once again, McIntosh has turned to Symbol Audio, who provides the 7.62cm thick wood slab. Incidentally, it is noted that Symbol Audio has received Silver Exemplary Status from the Sustainable Furnishings Council. Naturally, final assembly, packing, and shipping are done at the McIntosh factory.
The stands are constructed from sustainably sourced solid white ash, which we're told is incredibly strong and durable wood and resistant to scratches and dents. The feet have a protective pad on the bottom to protect floors and minimise vibrations.
The stands are finished with multiple coats of jet-black stain, with a catalysed lacquer top coat to add vibrancy and depth to the finish. In a typically McIntosh move, the stands also include a faceplate with the McIntosh logo illuminated via the Power Control ports.
Orders for the McIntosh AS125 and AS901 amplifier stands can be placed now through authorised dealers. Shipping is expected to begin in January 2022 to the United States and Canada, with the rest of the world following shortly afterwards.
Suggested retail price has the AS125 at £3,495 and the AS901 priced £3,995.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
