Monitor Audio Supports Martyn Ware’s Adventures in the Electroverse
Adventures in the Electroverse is a new multi-sensory art and sound installation powered by Monitor Audio.
Monitor Audio has announced its creative partnership with renowned electronic music pioneer Martyn Ware. Adventures in the Electroverse is the physical manifestation of Electronically Yours With Martyn Ware, the highly successful podcast in which the electronic music pioneer reconnects with many of the musicians, artists, filmmakers, comedians, and creative visionaries he's met throughout his illustrious 43-year career.
Martyn is best known as a founding member of The Human League and one-half of Heaven 17, both synth-based powerhouses from Sheffield. He has also produced best-selling albums for the likes of Terence Trent D'Arby and Tina Turner. Most recently, he has hosted a highly successful, culturally relevant podcast - Electronically Yours With Martyn Ware.
The Adventures in the Electroverse exhibition is a fully immersive, multi-sensory art and sound installation that brings the podcast into the physical world. It is presented at the New York Culture Club, World Trade Center.
Martyn told StereoNET:
I've always been attracted to science fiction; it was a huge part of my youth, and to me, at least, can be beautifully represented through electronic music and the technology that enables it. Throughout my career, creating soundscapes and immersive experiences has been an important part of my relationship with music, the physical space and live playback. 'Adventures in the Electroverse' allows me to indulge in my passion for immersive sound, using content from my most recent love, my podcast, with wonderful stories from many of the friends I've made over the years.
Combining Martyn's love of oral history and 3D soundscape experiences, Adventures in the Electroverse features content reimagined from his successful podcast. This is played back through Monitor Audio's SoundFrame high-fidelity on-wall speakers adorned with portraits of the friends who joined him on the show.
Launched in 2020, Electronically Yours With Martyn Ware boasts almost 200 hundred in-depth interviews with subjects as varied as the author Irvine Welsh, actor Steve Coogan, superstar Boy George, and the legendary producer and guitarist Nile Rodgers. Uncovering unheard stories and behind-the-scenes insights, Martyn and his guests discuss some of the biggest hits that have shaped popular music culture as we know it.
Adventures in the Electroverse, in partnership with Monitor Audio, runs from May 5th to June 1st at the New York Culture Club, Oculus, C1 Level, South Concourse, 185 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 pm to 7 pm and is free to enter.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
