MOON 700I V2 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER PLUS 780D v2 STREAMING DAC
It appears that Simaudio quietly slipped out the updated and upgraded MOON 700i v2 integrated amplifier as well as its perfect partner, the 780D v2 streaming DAC.
MOON 700i v2 Integrated Amplifier
Simaudio appears to be quite proud of what they have achieved with the MOON 700i v2 stating that it is “the most flexible, most extensively specified integrated stereo amp MOON has ever made.”
Having looked over the specs of this one-box amplifier and its fully differential dual-mono design, it certainly seems no slouch.
What the new integrated offers are 175 watts per channel of power @ 8ohms, the first five being Class A, delivered by an oversized dual-mono power supply. Additionally, you get MOON’s ‘Lynx’ technology that eliminates the global feedback loop and ensures “class-leading transparency and detail-rich authenticity of sound”. You can even have the 700i v2 contribute to an extensive home theatre system, thanks to the ability for each input to bypass the volume control.
The MOON 700i v2 ins and outs list as four unbalanced RCA inputs alongside balanced XLR, an RCA monitor loop, and line-level output. Frequency response is a respectable 10Hz-100kHz.
MOON 780D v2 Streaming DAC
MOON’s new reference digital source, 780D v2 promises to deliver outstanding high-resolution audio from your music library and streaming services such as TIDAL Masters, Qobuz Sublime+ and Deezer Hi-Fi. The 780D v2 supports PCM (up to 32bit/384kHz), DSD (up to DSD256) and will decode MQA via every input. Furthermore, it is also Roon Ready.
Naturally, the MOON 780D v2 sports the company’s MiND2 (MOON intelligent Network Device) streaming module that enables any of the DAC’s inputs to wireless stream to other MiND devices on the network. An Ethernet port is present for those preferring the most stable of network connections with Bluetooth aptX also onboard for smart device streaming.
You get both balanced and unbalanced outputs, and digital connections are copious - USB, AES/EBU, 3 x SP/DIF, and 2 x optical.
Add in the expected excellent build quality that includes aircraft-grade aluminium casework; we reckon Simaudio may well be justified in their pride.

Both the 700i v2 integrated amplifier and 780D v2 streaming DAC are available now priced at £13,000 and £13,500 respectively. You have a choice of black, silver or classic MOON two-tone finishes.
