NAD MASTER AND CLASSIC SERIES GET AIRPLAY 2

Owners of NAD Classic Series and Master Series kit now have access to Apple AirPlay 2.

It appears that Apple AirPlay 2 is featuring on many a hi-fi shoppers wishlist, so it makes sense that NAD is adding (Nadding, or is that something different?) it to their latest streaming amplifier and DAC.

If you are rocking the Classic Series C 658 BluOS Streaming DAC or lovely Master Series M10 BluOS Streaming Amplifier, you can download the free Apple Airplay 2 software update now.

NAD M10 Apple AirPlay 2

You will be prompted to update to version 3.4.20 of BluOS, the company's proprietary multi-room platform. Once installed, AirPlay 2 will allow you to stream music services, podcasts, audiobooks, movies, games, YouTube audio, TV sound and stored music from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Look, no hands!

Additionally, if you subscribe to Apple Music subscriber, you'll be able to control playback using Siri voice control. From there you can just tell your hi-fi what to play.

One for the oldies

If you have a NAD C 368 or C 388 you can get in on the action too. NAD has also released a BluOS 2i MDC module which can be slipped into your device's upgrade slot.

Priced at £399, the module adds BluOS multi-room streaming and AirPlay 2 functionality to the legacy kit.

The free download is available now, as is the BluOS 2i MDC module.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
