Primare Fronts Bang-for-Buck Bristol Show AV System

Karma AV plans to prove that great AV sound doesn't need to cost a fortune at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2023.

UK distributor Karma AV is readying to wow visitors to its room at The Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2023 with a 7.2.2 home cinema audio setup that promises jaw-dropping dynamics rather than heart-stopping price tags.

Primare SPA25 Bristol HiFi Show 2023

The centre of this system, and making its UK show debut, is the new Primare SPA25 Prisma Home Cinema Integrated Amplifier which will be suitably paired with a compact coalition of System Audio and SVS speakers featuring a SA saxo floorstanding LCR loudspeakers alongside super-slim saxo 16 and saxo 6 wall-mounted satellites. Bass duties are handed to a pair of SVS 3000 Micro subs; meanwhile, connecting everything will be In-akustik cables.

The Primare SPA25 Prisma is a nine-channel integrated amplifier and eleven-channel processor that supports the latest Atmos/DTS X processing, Dirac Live EQ. Additionally, it features 4K HDR switching, eARC, and Primare's proven Prisma network player technology and boasts 90 watts per channel, all channels driven. This makes the SPA25 Prisma the most powerful integrated amp Primare has ever produced.

The Prisma's adaptive power supply provides increased power output in stereo mode of 145/250 watts into 8/4 ohms and 290/405 watts into 8/4 ohms with four channels used in bi-amp stereo mode. The upshot is that the SPA25 can offer as many as seventeen customisable input pre-sets and five customisable speaker setup pre-sets, accommodating a wide variety of digital and analogue input and speaker/DSP configurations, including 5.1.4, 7.1.2, or 5.1.2 with bi-amped Front Left/Right channels, and 7.1.4 with the addition of a stereo amp for front speakers.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
