SENNHEISER GATHERS MOMENTUM

It’s shaping up as a good year for headphone enthusiasts with a flurry of sleek new model on the way from the major players.
Sennheiser is no laggard releasing three new models with more undoubtedly to come in 2017.
With one eye on the Go-generation, Sennheiser has unveiled the CX7.00BT in-ear headphone featuring an ultra-lightweight minimalist neckband design.
It looks quite swish.
Along with the stylish pizazz, the CX7 is said to have an excellent bass driven sound and leading edge wireless technology at an affordable price.
Flexibility, freedom of movement and great sound used with mobile devices are all promised by the CX7.
Along with a clear, detailed sound, the CX7 adds Bluetooth 4.1 and Qualcommapt-X for kosher wireless hi-fi sound. NFC one-touch pairing is easy to link to smart devices and this ‘phones multi-connection allows pairing with two devices at the same time.
The CX7 comes with four sizes of ear adapters for comfort and it has a ten-hour battery life along with USB charging. It will be available in October.
The new IE80 S in-ear model is a better version of one of the brand’s highest performing models in this genre. Hallmark features are an enhanced fit, customisation and high-end style.
The original IE80 was created from the brand’s expertise in the pro monitoring industry to deliver scads of detail. The updated model takes this sound quality up a notch using dynamic speakers with powerful neodymium magnets.
Frequency response can be adjusted by users via a unique sound customisation function. As with the CX7, this model is bundled with four sizes of ear adapters that now include memory foam ear tips from Comply along with standard and lamella silicon options. The ear adapters improve sound quality through a better fit in the ear canal.
Interestingly, Sennheiser reports this model’s passive noise attenuation of up to 26dB allows every bit of fine music detail to be enjoyed, even is rowdy environments.
Stylistically the IE80 S is a rugged industrial design that fits the shape of the ear and includes stainless steel parts while a red coloured strain relief on the right earphone connector makes for easy side recognition.
The IE80S comes with a carry case and a rugged interchangeable cable and for calls whilst on the move an optional smart remote cable with one-button control and in-line microphone is available. It will be available in September.
The Momentum Free is a totally new wireless model in the universally praised Momentum series.
Sound quality was paramount when designing this model and Sennheiser says it was inspired by those who always aim higher.
The Momentum Free is distinguished by its high quality dynamic speaker system and custom machined stainless steel in-ear sound tunnels that deliver superior acoustic precision with a powerful bass response and detailed vocals.
Advanced technology ensures top-flight sound via crystal clear wireless transmission.
Features includes Bluetooth 4.2, Qualcomm apt-X and AAC codec support while low latency compatibility enhances the ability to enjoy gaming or video content by keeping audio transmissions perfectly in sync with visuals.
The Momentum Free has a six-hour battery life and comes with a luxurious leather carry case. They have a three-button remote and high quality in-line microphone for making calls and controlling music.
The Momentum Free will pair with two different devices at the same time. Intuitive voice prompts give users notifications on the pairing status and battery life.
This model will also be available in October.
