Qobuz x Soho Radio

The online channel broadcasts live from London and New York to the world, and we are told that the station's ethos of championing innovation, creativity, and emerging talent aligns perfectly with the Qobuz platform, with both brands passionate about delivering the very best music experience and editorial content to connect cultures and communities.

The new creative partnership aims to redefine how music enthusiasts connect with emerging artists and grow the following of both brands through a series of on-air shows, live sessions, exclusive mixes, and specially curated playlists.

Qobuz Managing Director Dan Mackta told StereoNET:

Soho Radio's audience is a perfect fit for Qobuz and vice-versa. I got a great response when I guested on Morning Glory earlier this year, and working with James and the team is always fun and exciting.

Soho Radio Station Manager, Rachael Bird, added:

We are thrilled to partner with Qobuz — as pure music lovers and enthusiasts ourselves, this is a tailor-made fit to join forces and create some really unique content for our listeners. We can't wait to get going!

Soho Radio's eclectic roster is made up of shows from the likes of Primal Scream's Simone Marie, dub legend Dennis Bovell, renowned DJ and producer Artwork, UNKLE's James Lavelle, Jim Sclavunos of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Metronomy's Anna Prior, DJ Norman Jay MBE, and Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Inspired by Soho's diverse culture, Soho Radio draws together musicians, artists, filmmakers, poets and the generally curious from across the globe.

MORNING GLORY

Leading the diverse series of activations will be musical auteur James Endeacott, host of the station's only daily show Morning Glory. James will select the best content from the Qobuz platform, including fresh angles on new music, magazine articles, and the latest charts. A unique review segment featuring James and regular special guests will also feature every fortnight, offering an engaging discussion on the hottest new releases.

Qobuz x Soho Radio

This will be complemented by 12 live sessions over the next six months, capturing unique performances from talented artists. These sessions will be professionally filmed to create video content shown on Soho Radio and Qobuz.

Additionally, Qobuz promises its handpicked artists will result in an exhilarating weekly mix for James to play during his show resulting in a fresh musical journey full of discovery every time listeners tune in. Meanwhile, James will curate an exclusive Qobuz playlist, selecting the best tracks from his show that week.

This unprecedented partnership between Qobuz and Soho Radio promises to reimagine how listeners interact with their favourite artists and explore new sounds like never before by bringing together the best high-resolution streaming and radio's evergreen appeal.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
